Our Beliefs: The Apostles' Doctrine
Our Church believes strongly in the Holy Bible and serving The Lord Jesus Christ. The following is just a summary of some of our Church's beliefs. We invite you to visit and attend one of our services so you can fellowship with our members and spend time with our Pastor. We know that once you've visited, you will have found a home to worship. We have added a Bible search feature at the bottom of this page to help you find scripture and learn more about The Lord.
God's Standard of Salvation
We sincerely and earnestly contend for God's standard of salvation.
In the Word of God we can find nothing short of a Holy Ghost filled
life with signs following as on the day of Pentecost. Mark 16:16-17;
Acts 2:4-8; 14-17; 9:17-18; 10:44-48; 19;1-6. Also Romans
12:1-2; Hebrews 12:14; Matthew 5:48; I Peter 1:15-16.
Repentance
and Remission of Sins
The only grounds upon which God will accept a sinner is Repentance
from the heart for the sins which he has committed. A broken
and a contrite heart, he will not despise. Psalms 51:17.
John preached repentance, Jesus proclaimed it, and before his
ascension commanded that repentance and remission of sins should be
preached in his name, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:47.
Peter fulfilled this command on the day of Pentecost- see Acts
2:38
Marriage and Divorce
Whosoever putteth away his wife and marrieth another, committeth
adultery, and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her
husband committeth adultery. Luke 16:18; Romans 7:1-3; Mark
10:11-12. We hold that we have no right to add any thought of
our own to such a plain statement, in order to justify those who
have taken their second companion while the first liveth.
Women Preachers
We believe that it is Not the will of the Lord for women to preach.
Paul stated in I Timothy 2:12-14; "But I suffer not a woman to
teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not
deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."
Also, in I Corinthians 14:34-35 we find these words: "Let your women
keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto
them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also
saith the law.... And if they will learn anything, let them ask
their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak
in the church." Also see Isaiah 3:12 [As for] my people,
children [are] their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my
people, they which lead thee cause [thee] to err, and destroy the
way of thy paths.
